How Green Was My Valley

I have a dream to live in this place. But I fear that by the time I get a chance to live there, it may not remain so green. Each year I see a little less trees, ponds disappearing, rivers running dry, fewer streams to cross with their makeshift bridges and fewer frogs croaking during the rains.

Beautiful picture! Sad state of affairs - this indifference of humans towards nature.
Are your words also literal in the sense that each year you visit Kerala you find more trees being chopped down and ponds drying?

Hey suji,

i guess we are lucky that we can fill this green in our eyes, lifes and soul.
wonder ever we can fulfill our dreams in want of the trees, breeze and birds...great thought with great pic...

Yes Arvindh I meant it in the literal sense. Trees are being cut down and ponds are being filled up to make way for more buildings like everywhere else. Earlier each house used to have its own pond...now you can hardly see any ponds.

Thanks Rajesh.

Very true. Everything we have will disappear in a few years, I guess. But still the nature will be preserved in some of the remote villages.
