Lyrics that stole my heart

Ithramel manamulla kudamulla

Film: Mazha
Lyrics : O V Usha Music : Raveendran Sung by: Yesudas

Gist of the Poem: (for those who don't understand malayalam)

If the flowers are so fragrant and beautiful,

How beautiful would their dreams be...

The dreams of the flowers would be

Just as tender and gentle as they are...

Ma'am frankly speaking, did not understand even a single word but the feeling that the photo generates is just amazing!!

Yeah, I too didn't understand. Guess they're in Tamil or Malayalam. The flowers(?) have been wonderfully captured!

If I remember correctly, this song was written by K Jayakaumar, and not by Usha (some of the songs in Mazha were written by Jayakumar).

@ Varenya & Prateek: Thanks. I have added the gist of the poem for you.
@Mahout: I searched the net and found out that this song was written by Usha. You may be correct, I don't know.

I find Malayalam one of the sweetest Indian languages. I am sure that this song sounds great. Is there some way to listen to it online?

And the photograph is excellent!

Arvindh, you can listen to this song at this site:
www.raaga.com/channels/malayalam/movie/
M0000421.html

You will find all the songs of the movie 'Mazha' here, all of which are superb.

Or you can go to this site and download the song, but you need to register for that:

Type in 'Mazha' into the Title textbox.

The meaning of the song is too nice. Another song struck to me reading this one..

Hum na samjhe the, yeh baat itni see,
Khwab sheeshe ke aur duniya pathhar kee.

Just wondering if tender dreams are able to survive in the not-so-tender world :|

Nice blog. Maybe you deserve this blog more than me.

Abhas, I guess its difficult for a flower's tender dreams to survive in this world...but then the flower will still dream on, little knowing that its dreams will be crushed.

Thanks Suji...nice to meet somebody with my name. Its the first time I am meeting somebody else with my name.

Google led me to the lyrics here. Thanks much for taking the effort to post it! :)

If you would excuse me for being a perfection Nazi, I suggest the following links for the image of Kudamulla. You posted an image of Chrysanthamum, while kudamulla is Jasminum sambac.

Thank you Vishak, for dropping by and for taking so much effort in finding so many wonderful pictures of the kudamulla. I use only picture that I have clicked, and unfortunately I did not have any pictures of kudamulla, so I used the next best that I had. Even though its not a mulla, it looks like a kuda. :D

Yeah I realized the photo-blog part within a minute of posting the comment. Visited your other posts and really liked "Incoherent Ramblings".

Karam Karo.. Phal Ki Chintha Kyon?

I heard this in a Bhagavatha Sathram:

Conduct each of your acts as if you are doing it for God, and what will be yours will come to you in time.

Nice to see that you like Foundain Head. That book was one of the most influential in my life.

Have a good day!

PS: I'm Visakh, not Vishak :)

Sorry Visakh. Thank you for dropping by again. And thanks to you I read my incoherent ramblings again....and frankly speaking I was quite impressed with myself....hehehe. I had forgotten I had written something so philosophical....lol.

Do you have a blog I can visit?
