View of Taj from Agra Fort
This is a view of the Taj Mahal as seen from Agra Fort. At the end of his life, Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son, Aurangzeb in the fort, and he used to look at the Taj from a balcony of the Fort. Just imagine, it may be the same balcony I took this pic from....
This one is for you Jackal. Sorry its not such a great pic.
This is probably what the Taj Mahal looked like when Shahjahan used to look at it. A whiter Taj Mahal and the Yamuna overflowing with water.
Inspired by Sorabh's comment, I attempted my version of the black Taj.

u know Shahajahan had visioned
a exact replica of taj on the other side of the river too
only difference would be that
this one had to be in black stone
sadly his destiny did not let him
Suji, what a lovely set of photos...I'd recently seen a history program that said the black Taj Mahal was a reflection of the original into a pool made of black stone that was across the water...have you heard of this theory?
@Sorabh - Thanks for dropping by. Keep visiting. Yes, I have heard abt the black taj.
@Alexis - Yes, Taj is always awe inspiring. Pollution is taking its toll on the Taj.
@Bess - Thanks. I am glad u liked them. Yes, I read about this theory on the net on somebody's blog. It said that on fullmoon nights when the reflection of the Taj fell on the water is looked black.
Beautiful pictures. I had to show my kids the Taj Mahal so we took a trip to see the Taj and It really is awesome.

beauitful pictures - i so want to see the Taj Mahal one day..it's on my list! I never knew that he wanted to build a black taj. That's amazing. I find the history behind that beauitful building even more fascinating than the building itself! I'm surprised it hasn't been made into a hollywood movie by now! I love your blog by the way!
The unltimate tribute to love!

Great pics has been taken.
Agra Fort is another UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Agra city. This masterpiece built in red sandstone offers a panoramic view of the Taj Mahal on a clear day. For travellers and tourists, there are plenty of Agra hotels offering comfortable stay.
